About Tyler Hansell

My name is Tyler Hansell, some of you may know me as TJ. I am a native east Oregonian, and my family and I live within the boundaries of Umatilla Electric Cooperative (UEC).

As a farmer and irrigator, I know how critical it is to have plentiful, reliable and affordable electricity for our community and for our businesses. We all need that – from the largest electrical consumer, down to the single meter that keeps a heat lamp on in winter.

The decisions of UEC, as guided by its Board of Directors, affect us all, and it is my desire to be a Director and take part in those decisions. Our Cooperative should work more openly with its members – with clearer communication, stronger engagement opportunities, and greater transparency on rates.

UEC has consistently provided plentiful, reliable electricity since its inception. It also has solid plans for local preparedness when outages and emergencies might occur. I believe that this cooperative provider, with locally guided decision-making, has proven sophisticated and successful in its field.

We can strengthen how UEC serves District 5. I would be honored to serve as your Director, and I promise I will work hard to ensure this legacy continues — with your voice at the table.
